Hi! I'm Ellen, a social researcher. I'm currently a master's student in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at Georgia Tech. I'm also pursuing a graduate certificate in Science, Technology, and Society (STS).
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in 2018, where I studied anthropology and mathematics.
Before coming to Georgia Tech, I worked in healthcare software where I worked closely with customers to meet users' needs. This experience had a great impact on the way I understand how technology impacts the lives of real users and those around them. Human-centered design is indispensable, in healthcare and everywhere else.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, eating good food, and hiking with my dog Suki.
Check out my episode of The HC-Hive podcast, where I discuss research and tech ethics with some of my peers.
